I think this is a great place to sit and relax on a fine morning or evening if one has time.

This picture is taken from the steps of UOB Plaza, a-two high-rise skyscrapers at Raffles Place.

These sparrows were so snug with their environment that they just hopped and stayed there and were oblivious to the constant stream of passer-bys. These birds didn’t really seem to mind.

Lovely blooms especially the eye-catching lotus flowers, devotees would buy them and offer them to the gods.

Leisure Lodge This blog is created mainly to record the sights and sounds as ER and I encountered, and of course would gladly register my childhood recollections as they resurfaced. Memories, memories abound! That’s what I get when I am in a natural surrounding or a manmade one…like the waterfront housing estate I live in, Punggol 21. The landscaped common areas with trees, flowering plants and shrubs, palm trees and wild plants like lalang, morning glory, mimosa in pink and yellow flowers still growing in the untouched areas etcetera are all luxuries at the moment, in my opinion, not forgetting the empty lush green fields. Football and kite flying are other leisure activities here in the weekends. Sometimes, lovely patches of wild mushrooms sprout when the weather is right. Sighting of Mynas and sparrows are common here. And in the months of January or early February I have seen egrets on the fields. Love the sights of all these. Nature is amazing! Take a look at all these wild plants if you like: Nature Trails When night falls, the cries of crickets or the croaking frogs at night especially after the rain certainly will bring on more childhood recollections! I still cherished the memories of simple things that my siblings and I had done and shared as kids and teenagers. Appreciating nature is a great way to relax, so stop short for awhile or make a conscious effort to look at the surroundings when you are out there doing your morning or evening walks. Believe me; you may surprisingly realize little things do make us smile and help us relax through observations.
